Welcome our New President!

Gretchen Lynch, C-TAGME, began her career in GME at the University of Missouri in Pathology, then transferred to General Surgery. Following her 20 year tenure with General Surgery, Gretchen has experienced working with Surgical Critical Care, Emergency Medicine and now Cardiothoracic Surgery at Duke University Hospital.

As Gretchen stated “I have been in GME for 33 years. OMG…. I didn’t realize that…”

Gretchen was an active member and president in the Association of Residency Administrators in Surgery and joined TAGME in 2017 as a member of the Surgery Assessment Committee when the assessment was a two-part exam. Gretchen is proud to say that she was in the first group of coordinators to sit for the General Surgery exam in 2006 and her original certificate number is 16.

Outside of GME, Gretchen has two grown children, Nicole and Lauren and one very spoiled Cockapoo named Gabby.

Welcome our New VP!

Donna Guidroz, C-TAGME, earned her Initial Accreditation in 2014, this was the beginning of her interest and dedication to TAGME. Since 2020, she has served on the TAGME Board of Directors, or her exact words – had the privilege to serve – including her service on the Examinations Committee that started in 2022. And now, has been as selected as Vice President/President Elect, effective in 2024. She is excited to continue contributing to the organization in a leadership capacity and deeply values TAGME’s integrity and its ongoing commitment to fostering growth and excellence among GME professionals. 

With Donna’s experience of more than 28 years in graduate medical education (GME), her role as Director of GME enables her to train and collaborate with executive and program leadership. Having extensive knowledge of ACGME accreditation requirements, site visits, as well as new program and institutional application submissions allows her to contribute meaningfully to TAGME’s mission of promoting excellence in GME program management through the certification process.

Her list of accomplishments includes graduating from the AAMC GME Leadership Development Certification Program in 2023, which further expanded her expertise in GME administration and leadership. She was also honored to been named a recipient of the 2024 ACGME Institutional Coordinator Award, a recognition that reflects passion and commitment to advancing the field of GME.

Welcome our New Secretary!

Deb Berrand, C-TAGME Deb has been TAGME certified since 2016 and has served on the Board of Directors since 2020, and as Chair of the Outcomes Committee 2022-2024. 

Deb has over 15 years of experience in GME in various roles, including Education Program Coordinator for multiple residencies and fellowships, GME Team Lead, and GME Institutional Coordinator and Data Administrator. She is currently the GME Project and Data Administrator at Phoenix Children’s in Phoenix, AZ. In this role, she manages the Residency Management System, oversees onboarding activities, GME financial data and reporting, and training for program administrators, residents, fellows, and faculty.
