I want Clarification on the Initial certification criteria.

1. After reviewing the qualifying GME roles in the Certification Guide, position titles vary from institution to institution. Is it up to the institution to decide which positions qualify?
2. Does a Residency Program Assistant qualify?

1. Yes, institutions decide qualifying roles.
2. The intent is more toward program coordinators. Assistants may not cover all tested areas (ECFMG, NRMP, Institutional Policies, etc.).
3. Programs must ensure candidates are knowledgeable and meet the requirements to pass the exam successfully.

When I completed the application and was approved, I did not list the accommodation at that time as they were not needed. A few months have gone by, and now I have a medical issue and would like to update my application. I now need accommodation. What should I do?

Submit a physician-signed letter to applications@tagme.org  at least 30 days before the exam. Unexpected cases should be reported immediately. This will ensure time to contact the testing site and Proctor for notification and any requested setup. If this is an unforeseen accident/illness request, please inform the Applications Committee immediately.

If the documentation is not sent promptly, you may be asked to reschedule your exam for a different date.

I will need to take breaks to breastfeed or pump in a private area. How does this work for remote and/or testing centers?

You will need to request additional time for accommodation as you will need to leave the testing center exam room; extra time is allotted on top of the scheduled breaks for breastfeeding.

For virtual testing, the room and security measures will be enforced each time you leave the room. Each testing site will have secure requirements to comply with to continue each time you reenter the testing site. The clock will continue to run with any additional time allotted.

Can my dog be in the room while I take the exam?

The dog can only be in the room (home or testing site) if it is a certified SERVICE dog. We do not want anything to disrupt you during the exam. We must see a copy of the official Certified Service Dog card with the issuing agency’s phone number.

Can I bring diabetic supplies (monitor, water, snacks to the exam?

Can TAGME provide a receipt for reimbursement?

Receipts are issued through Stripe at the time of payment. Each application/exam must be paid separately, listing the candidate’s name. Group payments are not accepted. A printout/PDF confirming a passed exam is available.

Do I need to create or have a Stripe account to pay the examination fee?

No, you only need a valid credit card to pay. You do not need to create or have an account with Stripe.

Regarding the EC requirements, can these be from conferences, or do all have to be from PPG, like presentations, etc.?

How do I check if my computer is compatible?

Use the “Test it Out” tool from Meazure Learning. Follow emailed instructions. If issues arise, use troubleshooting links or contact support. Reach out to our support team at Meazure Learning for further assistance.

How should I set up my testing area? Does it need a door?

The only study material allowed in the testing area is a printed copy of the TAGME Study Guide, which may be placed in a notebook with tabs. Pens and pencils are not permitted.

Clear desk space; remove or cover any other computers in the room.

• Complete the “Test it Out” tool and restart your computer if needed.
• Check your confirmation email for allowed/prohibited items.
• Use a computer with administrative access to disable interfering apps.
• If using a work laptop, ensure you can remove security restrictions.
• A private room with a closed door is required.

Can I leave the door open if my children are home during my exam?

No other people (children or adults) are allowed in the testing area during the exam.

Is TAGME still giving the TAGME Pins once the examination is passed?

We no longer provide the TAGME pins. The pins caused damage to clothing and were easily damaged by US mail during transport.

I want clarification on a few questions. Has TAGME ever considered providing the correct answers for missed questions?
